DESIGN PROTOTYPE of the `Akahi Hola (One Hour) or "PUNA" Bill

Designing the Currency
Like all graphics, money must be designed. Kaua`i Time should be as beautiful as the island it will serve. Berkshares are a excellent example of a well designed currency. They understood when beginning that good design was critical to their success, and made efforts to involve talented local designers and artists to craft their local currency.
Above is a prototype of the Kaua`i Time One Hour Bill (equal in value to $20 USD). If you look closely, you will see some of the qualities and characteristics that will act as a template for other denominations of Kaua`i Time:
* a separate color scheme for each denomination to cover the rainbow
* a map of Kaua`i with highlighted Moku (district) on each bill
* an historical, or early 'contact' cultural/landscape image of Kaua`i
* a prominent cultural/physical Moku landmark like a mountain or waterfall
* an important endemic/indigenous/endangered species
* a 'canoe plant' brought by the first Polynesian settlers
* bilingual in Hawaiian and English
Artists and Illustrators are needed to provide original artwork for components of each of the Kaua`i Time denominations, and Graphic Designers are needed to assemble these original and historical graphic elements into a coherent, beautiful bill.
